The drill featured a seminar on earthquake and fire survival and evacuation and identifying hazards by Insp. Jeremias R. Mota Jr of the BFP. Also, responders of the MDRRMO Bula and PNP operatives demonstrated proper carrying and extraction of wounded victims with and without the use of rescue equipment.
The proper way of vacating the premises in emergency situations was practiced by BFAR employees with directions from the drill instructors. Moreover and a chosen few were also given the chance to test their firefighting skills with a high pressure water hose powered by BFP-Bula’s firetruck.
To conclude the activity the BFAR5 Office was presented a Fire and Earthquake Drill Certificate declaring the BFAR Region V compliance with Sec.126.96.36.199 of the implementing rules and regulations of RA 9514 otherwise known as the Fire Code of the Philippines of 2008.
The certificate was received by Finance and Admin Chief Marjurie Grutas who in turn also presented certificates of appreciation and a token BFAR5 Anti-IUUF mug to all the drill instructors. (Hansel Fajardo)
